The Nightline Association has transferred Portal to Three Rings CIC.

From Saturday 3rd May 2025, Portal has been provided by Three Rings CIC, the non-profit organisation providing online volunteer management software for charities and other third sector organisations.

Portal is now available at its new home here: https://3rportal.org.uk/

Here is a message from Three Rings:

Hi!

We’re the volunteers who write Three Rings (and who have written Three Rings ever since we invented it to support Aberystwyth Nightline back in 2002).

Throughout the last 23 years we’ve always wanted to ensure that Three Rings is used to support Nightlines, and even though we now support a huge range of charities and voluntary organisations both across the UK and the wider world, Nightlines have always had a special place in our heart.

Almost all of our volunteers have been Nightliners at one time or other (one of us was at Lancaster back in 1971!), so when we were made aware that the Nightline Association would be closing, and that the closure put the Nightline Portal system at risk, we wanted to help.

I’m pleased to report that we have concluded an agreement with the Nightline Association which will let Three Rings CIC adopt, and maintain access, to Portal for any Nightline that wants to continue using it after the Association closes.
